Atlassian Connect will reach the end of support on January 31, 2027. To continue using Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket without interruption, a Workspace Admin needs to install the Forge version of the app.

The upgrade preserves all user data and subscription details and automatically removes the Connect version after the Forge app is installed, resulting in no more than 1 minute of downtime.

Why the upgrade is required

Atlassian is phasing out the Connect app framework and moving cloud apps to Forge. Connect will reach the end of support on January 31, 2027.

After that point, the Connect version of Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket will no longer be available. The Forge version will be the supported version of the app going forward.

Before you start

Only a Workspace Admin can upgrade Awesome Graphs.

Regular users do not need to take any action. You do not need to manually transfer data, start a new trial, change your subscription, or ask users to reauthorize the app.

Both versions are named Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket. The existing Connect app entry in Installed apps will contain the Get the Forge app link.

You do not need to uninstall the Connect app manually. We will remove it automatically after the Forge app has been installed successfully.

How to upgrade

  1. Open the settings menu and select Workspace settings.

  2. Under Apps and features, select Installed apps.

  3. Find Awesome Graphs for Bitbucket.

  4. Select Get the Forge app.

  5. Complete the Forge app installation.

  6. Open Awesome Graphs and continue using the app as usual.

Once the Forge app is installed:

  • The Forge version becomes available to users.

  • All existing user data remains available.

  • The Connect version is removed automatically.

  • No separate uninstall or migration confirmation is required.

The navigation path and Get the Forge app label correspond to Atlassian’s current Bitbucket Connect-to-Forge migration flow.

What stays the same

User data

All existing user data is preserved automatically. Users do not need to export, import, or recreate anything.

Functionality

The Forge version provides the same Awesome Graphs functionality as the Connect version, except for the temporary avatar-display limitation described below.

Subscription and billing

Your existing subscription continues without any changes.

The following remain the same:

  • Subscription status

  • Price

  • Billing cycle

  • Renewal date

Installing the Forge version does not start a new trial and does not result in duplicate charges.

Access and authorization

End users do not need to reauthorize the app or perform any additional setup.

Temporary limitation: user avatars

User avatars are not currently displayed on the cards below graphs in the Forge version of Awesome Graphs.

This is caused by a platform limitation and affects only avatar display. Graph data, reports, and other Awesome Graphs functionality are not affected.

We will restore user avatars when Atlassian makes the required capability available. There is currently no confirmed date for this change.

What happens if you do not upgrade

When Atlassian Connect reaches the end of support, the Connect version of Awesome Graphs will become unavailable.

Regular users will see a message asking them to contact a Workspace Admin. Workspace Admins will see an option to upgrade the app.

Existing user data will not be deleted. Access to it will be restored after a Workspace Admin installs the Forge version.
