Pre-migration checklist
- The Smart Attachments for Jira app migrates only the data for the projects available in Jira Cloud. You need to migrate the app simultaneously with Jira projects.
- Note that attachments from the default Uncategorized category (even if it's renamed in your instance) won't have any labels on Jira Cloud after migration.
- The app matches categories based on their names to avoid duplicated labels after migration. This logic is not case-sensitive, and the method trim() to avoid of duplicates in case of spaces before or after the category name. Please ensure that you have no typos or additional spaces between category names to avoid unrequited duplicated labels on Cloud.
The Uncategorized category is the default category of our app that is used for all the attachments that have not been placed by users into any other category. For example, once you start with our app, all the attachments are in the Uncategorized category. This category can't be deleted in any scheme. It can only be renamed.
The app behavior is different on Cloud. Due to the architectural limitations we don't have attachment categories. We introduced attachment labels instead. It means that ,after migration, the attachments get the labels corresponding to the category names they had on Server. This is true for all the categories but for the Uncategorized category as this is the default category for attachments that have not been categorized by the user. Thus, the attachments from this default category are migrated to Cloud without labels.
If that's critical for you, consider creation of a new category in the category scheme and moving attachments from the default category to this new category before migration.
