As Connect End of Support (EOS) approaches on 31 January 2027, we share our migration plan to inform admins and end users about the app future. We are proud to share with you the effort and investment our developers have made to ensure customers can continue using Handy Macros for Confluence (Status, Dropdown & Formatting). We intend to complete the migration before the official Connect EOS and will keep you updated on the next steps.

Where are we now?

We have switched from the legacy Connect-only state to the transitional Connect on Forge, where our existing Connect modules continue to work, but the app is wrapped in Forge's tooling. It allows us to incrementally replace app Connect modules with Forge modules to ensure a smooth user experience. At the moment, the migration is completed for ~85% of the app functionality, with the remaining part being in an active development phase. While we have any Connect modules left, the app counts as a Connect app; that's why we need to communicate the migration plan to you to stay transparent.

What are we doing as part of the migration?

  • We have migrated our app storage to Atlassian Forge storage.
  • Our backend for Connect modules stays where it was - on AWS, while being replaced by Atlassian Forge for already migrated modules.
  • Our frontend is moving to Forge, using the Custom UI and UI kit, depending on the functionality of the migrated module.
  • We use Forge Remote to communicate with our existing backend.
  • Once the module is migrated, we ensure the logs are error-free and remove the Connect section.

What actions are required from our clients?

At this stage, none. We will roll out changes one by one, as we did before, and will ensure timeline alignment.

Once the last module is migrated, a new Forge-only major version of the app will appear. Clients' admins will need to click the upgrade button to start using it. Basically, that's it. You won't need to perform any additional setup or macro replacement. We'll inform you via email and other available channels once the Forge version goes live. So stay tuned for more.

As always, our support is here to address any concerns you might have. Thank you for being our partner!
