1. Which versions of Atlassian Confluence are supported?

Talk Plugin supports Confluence starting from version 4.0. Confluence 3.x is not supported.

2. How to install Talk Plugin?

You can install it manually or using the Universal Plugin Manager. To start using Talk Plugin, generate a 30-day evaluation license or purchase a commercial license.

3. Where do I finf my Server ID? I need it to generate a license.

Log in to Confluence as Administrator. Go to Confluence Admin > System Information. You will see your Server ID in the Confluence Information section.

4. Is it possible to restrict access to Talk for individual users and/or groups?

Yes, Talk has rights management from v1.8.0.

5. Is it possible to restrict access only to certain Talk Plugin features, for example, editing comments or resolving discussions?

No. Users who can edit a discussion, have full access to it.

6. Is there any character limit for Talk comments?

No. You can post comments of any length.

7. Can I use Talk Plugin inside standard Confluence comments?

No. You can use Talk only to comment a content posted on a Confluence page or blog.

8. I accidentally resolved a discussion/deleted a comment. Can I restore it?

No, this is not possible.

9. Are email notifications sent after editing or deleting a comment?

No. Email notifications are sent only after adding a comment or resolving a discussion.

10. Can I copy a Talk discussion to another page or blog?

Technically, you can. However, on the target page the discussion will start again (i.e. only the first comment will be copied, other comments will be lost).

11. Is it possible to add several watchers using @mentions?

Yes. Type the @ symbol and select the watcher from the list. Repeat this for all persons you want to add as watchers.

12. Will I get any Talk Plugin notifications in my Workbox?

Yes. You'll get Workbox notifications about new and resolved discussions and added comments. This feature is not available for Confluence versions earlier than 4.3.3.
