Licensing of the add-on was made more clear and transparent
New in this release
Warning: Starting with 1.7.8 release the add-on supports two types of licenses – vendor (bought on the StiltSoft's website) and Marketplace. If you have existing vendor license, please ignore the message 'Paid Update Available' in UPM. Your existing license will remain working.
This release brings additional information about your licenses statuses both for UPM and vendor license page (Administration - Talk Add-On License)

Yesterday I installed 1.7.8 with a trial licence on Confluence 5.0.2. which worked as a charm.
Today I noticed and installed the update, but now the plugin won't show the added text in the edit-mode and also in the view mode I only get the inline Talk icon, but no comments on the right.
What happened? Can I go back to 1.7.8.?

You can download 1.7.8 directly from Talk add-on versions page. You need to uninstall the current version before installing 1.7.8.
