Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence can work with data from multiple sources. Below is an overview of the available data sources and how to use them with the app macros.

Native Confluence tables

Create a table directly on a Confluence page and place it inside any Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets app macro.

Macro-generated tables

This group includes tables produced by other macros that can be used as data sources.

Tables generated by Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets app macros

The output of any app macro can be reused as a data source for other app macros.

For example, you can create a pivot table using the Pivot Table macro and reuse it on another page with the Table Excerpt macro. In this case, the Pivot Table macro acts as the data source.

Other macros (including third-party apps)

For third-party macros, compatibility may vary. We recommend contacting either our team or the app vendor to confirm whether the app is compatible.

External data sources and file formats

Excel file

Insert the Table Spreadsheet macro, upload an Excel file, and work with the data in an Excel-like interface.

CSV

Use the Table from CSV macro and specify the source of the CSV file — either a URL or an attachment.

JSON

Use the Table from JSON macro and specify the JSON source — either a URL or an attachment.

External APIs

Any system that returns data in JSON or CSV format via API can be used as a source:
— via the Table from JSON macro
— or the Table from CSV macro

Insert the appropriate macro, specify the source (URL), and configure the data.
