We're moving the app to Atlassian's modern cloud platform—Atlassian Forge. In short, this is a major security upgrade that will benefit all customers, and we're among the first of the largest apps on the Atlassian Marketplace to make this move.

What does it mean for you as a customer?

This update allows Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence to run entirely within Atlassian Cloud infrastructure and qualify for the Runs on Atlassian badge.

For you, this means:

  • Your app data stays entirely within Atlassian Cloud.

  • Expanded data residency capabilities to help meet regional and organizational requirements.

  • Full control over data egress, making it easier to satisfy internal security and compliance policies.

Key things you need to know

Before diving into the details, here are the key things you should know:

  • Your existing reports, dashboards, and macros will continue to work. Most end users won't notice any changes, and for the vast majority of customers, no additional setup is required.

  • A few features are changing to align with the new platform requirements. If you're affected, we'll explain exactly what you need to do below.

  • Confluence administrators will need to perform a one-time app update. Please wait until you receive an email and an in-app notification from us before updating. We'll let you know when your instance is ready.

When will this happen?

The new app version is expected to be released in early August 2026. After the release, all new installations of Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence will automatically use the Forge version.

The rollout to existing customers will begin after the official release. We'll invite customers to migrate gradually, and when your instance is ready, your Confluence administrator will receive an email and an in-app notification with instructions.

The final migration of all customers to the new Forge version will be completed no later than December 2026 due to Atlassian's end-of-support for Connect apps.

What do I need to do as an administrator?

1. Wait for our notification

We'll ask to update customers gradually. Please don't update the app until you receive:

  • an email from us;

  • an in-app notification confirming that your instance is ready.

2. Update the app

Once notified, update Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence in Atlassian Administration.

Administration → Connected apps → Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets → View app details → Update.

Once you update, rolling back to the previous version won't be possible.

3. Install the companion app if you rely on CSV/JSON import via URL

CSV/JSON import via URL is moving out of the app to align with Forge platform requirements. If your organization uses this functionality, users will see an in-app notification next to the affected tables. 

As a Confluence administrator, you'll need to install the free companion app Live Tables from CSV & JSON to keep these imports working. The app is developed and managed by our team and remains available to all clients for free.

  • After installing the companion app, you'll need to migrate your existing Table from CSV and Table from JSON macros to Live Tables from CSV & JSON. Your existing macros and configurations will be preserved, so there's no need to recreate them from scratch. Step-by-step migration instructions are available here.

  • If your imports use authentication (such as usernames, passwords, or API tokens), you'll also need to re-enter those credentials after the migration.

What's changing for users?

Most functionality remains the same. However, a few changes are required as part of the migration to Forge.

CSV/JSON import via URL is moving to a free companion app.

The functionality will remain available to all customers at no additional cost. Your existing URL import workflows will continue to work, but a Confluence administrator will need to install the free companion app by following the steps described above.

CSV/JSON file imports aren't changing and will remain fully supported in the main app.

Current AI features are being removed

Outputs previously generated via these features won’t be lost. This includes the AI table macro, AI assistant for Table Transformer, and Table Spreadsheet.

We're focusing our investment on the capabilities customers rely on most while exploring future AI solutions aligned with Atlassian's native AI capabilities.

Limits on table size and supported file: 4 MB.

Atlassian Forge has platform limits on the size of files and tables that apps can process. If a file or table exceeds the supported size, you'll see a notification explaining the issue, and the content won't be displayed until its size is reduced in edit mode.

Smart Links inside tables will be displayed as plain URLs

The links themselves—including external websites and internal Jira or Confluence links—will continue to work as expected.
